Special thanks to all our choir members and do Music Director Dr. Kamilla Szklarska for presenting the beautiful Christmas cantata this morning.
“You can’t touch me. I’ve been baptized!” I wish we could say those words to the struggles and difficulties that we all have to face in my life, “You can’t touch me. I’ve been baptized!” But, this is not how baptism works.
Baptism does not eliminate our difficulties, fix our problems, take away the pain, or change the circumstances of our lives. Instead, it changes us and offers a way through those difficulties, problems, and circumstances and ultimately, a way through death. Baptism transcends our biological existence and offers us a new way of being – one that is neither limited by nor suffers from our “createdness.”

A Prayer for Those Facing Economic Hardship, Mental Struggles, Depression, Bullying, Anxiety, or Persecution
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
Heavenly Father,
We lift up those who are struggling today—those facing financial difficulties, mental burdens, depression, bullying, anxiety, or persecution. Remind them that You care for them and that You are near to the brokenhearted. Grant them peace in the midst of their trials, strength in their weakness, and hope in Your everlasting love. Surround them with Your comfort and guide them to find refuge in You. Amen.
If you need someone to talk to or are seeking spiritual guidance, please reach out to one of our pastors for counseling. You can contact us at gracelutheranchurch@gmail.com or call 305-888-2871

The Word of God
Love: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV)
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."
Peace: Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Faith: Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."
Forgiveness: Colossians 3:13 (NIV)
"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."
A professor stood before his philosophy class with some items in front of him. When the class began, without saying a word, he picked up a very large, empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar as well. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
